central locking problem

When I try to lock or unlock my C200 with the remote key fob, the drivers door locking mechanism keeps locking and unlocking continuously for about 5 seconds. I have to press the remote key fob a few times before the door will lock or unlock. Passenger door works fine and I have tried my spare key fob and that does the same.
Can anyone help? Thanks

hello bann, assuming you have a w203 c-class, it will need a new lock mechanism. this is a very common problem and if you search 'bouncing lock' or something similar on the forum you will read lots about it. it is only a spring that breaks, but a difficult one to find - so far i have not heard of any DIY fixes.

then it will be as i suggested above. expect around £80 for the lock and about the same to fit it.

nice little job on this car, did one last week. the last w209 i did was a real pig though - some are easier than others.
