Hi guys, i'm sort of new to this forum. I have a quick question concerning the vacuum locking system in an '85 380SE. Basically, is what you see in this picture below bad? In case its not recognisable, that's the magnetic ring that can be found in the door lock vacuum pump in the right rear under the trunk next to the spare tire. Can it work without the broken magnetic ring? Also, please tell me what you think of the pieces on that bread board. It almost looks like it took water damage or something, but i'm not really sure.

Thanks, Troy.

Update: I've managed to get a 12 volt source on a testing board here. I rigged the vacuum pump to a switch. Does anyone know how much pressure this thing should put on the line? I'm reading ridiculously small numbers, but I'm sure this one's dead. I got another one on the way to replace the dead one. Has anyone tried testing this piece?
