Hi, I've just joined the forum and recently bought a 1991 W124 230CE. Great car in great condition but the central locking will only lock and unlock both doors and boot from the boot lock. Any ideas from anybody where to look for a solution please?

The fault should be the receiver in the drivers door handle

Remove the door card (it lifts off vertically when the door fittings are removed)

There are two types , white and black , I managed to buy the wrong one ;o)

Hi there

I am also a new member of the forum, having just bought a 1992 W124 200e. I am having the same problem as the OP. The central locking only works from the boot lock. Using the key on either of the doors only unlocks that door. Using the key in the boot lock will lock or unlock all four doors.

From what I have read so far, it appears that the pump is working okay and that there are no leaks in the pipes anywhere. Should I also look at the locks in each door?

Thanks in advance
CRaig
