Hi,

The passenger door on my CLK 240 doesn't open from the outside even though the lock is in the "up" position. Before i take the door panel off and look at the mechanism is there a known fault that would cause this ? (it opens fine from the inside handle?

It will be stuck and require some lubrication, use a PTFE product or Silicon, that really last well

thank you for your response. the catch comes up and the handle pulls but the door doesn't open. it doesn't seem "slack2 enough for it to have become disconnected from the mechanism. Is your solution still the right one for this and where should the lubrication go? would WD40 be suitable if it is the case?

There is a spring loaded plate that has not returned, and it is this that needs to be lubricated or checked.

Wd40 is not the best long term solution, but it could work... the door car will have to come off and maybe the lock lowered

Not sure on that seat fault, this does sound like controller rather than the seat pad, but I am not sure on this one
