Hi, I lock my mercedes E280 auto estate 1993 only to find it's un-locked itself a couple of minutes later or so. I thought I was going mad.
Any ideas what's causing this?

it's not remote central locking. It's unlocking its self nearly every time now. I lock the car with the key in the drivers door. When I return the car is all unlocked. This is very worrying as I am now unable to leave the car anywhere. Please can anyone help. i'm finding it rather embarrassing now. people are begining to take the micky out of mercedes cars.

I have a similar problem with my 230te which work's on a vacuum system. Clearly there's a spilit in one of the slave units, whether the locks go down is touch and go. Your newer vehicle is probably electric solonoids attached to each lock.
As a temporary measure you could identify the fuse that controls the central locking and remove it if there is no other system on the same fuse that you can not dispense with. You will then have to work around then sytem to trace the fault.
