Centre Console Illumination.

I'm new to this 2012 E class estate and getting to know the myriad of settings available. I noticed last night that the centre console was not illuminated, as in the demisting row of buttons and the audio command buttons. Should they be lit up and is there a setting to do this please? I'm sure it's in the manual somewhere but i'm still learning to read the Beano so it's all too much for me.

Is there not a dial somewhere to turn the lights up, as it may have been turned down by mistake, it maybe by the headlight switch.

No. Just a headlight adjustment setting. There is something about the display settings in the audio supplement. I will have a look later if it ever stops raining here.

Still trying to find out as to why the central console audio command buttons and the row containing the demist etc buttons are so dark.
They sort of become dimly lit when the radio screen goes to black but are still impossible to read. The cluster lights adjust ok but the unlit centre console is useless as the dark creeps in. And before anyone asks, yes I have gone to Specsavers.
