I have noticed there are two types of centre dash console. The type i have in my '89 2.0 190E has the heater controls, then below that is the stereo and below that a fold down ashtray with a few inch gap before the flat compartment of the centre tunnel console. I have seen another type of centre dash that has the heater stuff, then two 'DIN' apertures for Two stereo components and then a fold out ashtray, hinged at the bottom. This second type of centre dash actually joins at the bottom to the tunnel console and does not allow for a gap and it's this type of centre dash i would like to know about.
What model did it come from or was it an option that was always available?
If it's from an earlier or later car than my '89, will it still fit mine?
Does anyone have one spare by any chance, a good secondhand one would be fine for me.
The whole reason i want it is simply for a Blaupunkt In-Dash cd changer. I do not want to run loads of wiring to the boot, nor install a big changer box in there, the dash option is great and looks very nice indeed but requires a double DIN aperture. I couldn't believe my luck when i spotted a 190 with two DIN apertures so i want to know if anyone's done this and how good / bad an idea it is.
Thanks
