Have the car battery checked ,I read a post recently with the same problem you are having and it was cured by replacing the car battery.

Do you know if its a factory fitted remote locking or an aftermarket one?

Either way, there is a relay somewhere that temporaly connects the signal wire to ground or 12V, depending on if opening or closing. My guess is that the contacts on the relay are on the way out.

I'm not sure. I have an aftermarket one on my car, along with an imobiliser. I had probs with the remote when I first got the car so I don't use it.

Somebody will be along shortly with the answer I'm sure.
