That will change now you've caught the Mercedes bug. I had never polished a car in over 40 years of driving. Now I love seeing my Merc look her best.

You are spot on there daibevan, in 7 years of owning my old Volvo, think she got 4 washes by me, only had Helga a couple of weeks and already on my 3rd wash and polish, love the slate grey colour she does look peachy when all shined up and the wheels are immaculate no kerb marks or corrosion so think she has been well looked after so better keep up the good work of previous owners

Polish is AG SRP, wax goes on top of that

After seeing the process for application of ceramic coating and the preparation that goes into the paintwork, I would never do the job myself. I had mine professionally detailed and although it’s not a cheap option I think you will agree the results are amazing for a 16 year old car

The guys that did it worked hard to achieve this finish. It included some wet sanding to remove orange peel and a 3 stage compound cutting process. It is going back for the final check as I was told not To wash it for two weeks. They will go over the car again to check the finish and ensure the ceramic coating has cured...

It depends on the level of work needed. Every car is different with different levels of correction needed. If the administrator says it’s ok, I can give you the name of the company in Ilkeston Derby if that is within reach of you.

Detailing probably cost as much as the car is worth...... It looks like a great job and when I see that, it reinforces (to me) how unrewarding it is to wax a white car!

That's a seriously nice motor and a beautiful finish to that paint.
I wouldn't be comfortable driving it around here in Llandudno though. Over the last few years I have noticed that seagulls crap in different amounts on different colour cars. Don't ask me why -:I have no idea - it's just a factual observatíon.
Blue cars win hands down! They get absolutely painted!!
