Looks like the alternator on my w210 E200K is toast. I've replaced alternators on other makes/models before, but I scoured the internet and couldn't find any clear guides on how to replace it on this car. Similar models (e200T) but not this one.

Would assume that it is similar (release tensioner, disconnect alternator and a few bolts) but there is a big filter in the way and some other gubbins. I would guess I need to do it from underneath.

Looks like it has the M111.957 motor, not sure if anyone on here has swapped one themselves?

Do you have good access to the back of the alternator ? If you do, why not just replace the voltage regulator pack.

I think it is very simular to this - same engine. M111....

Thanks for that - I thought the w210's bay was cramped, that is even less space!

I used to have a C180K Coupe and I had to change the Alternator.

But I bought one off Ebay for £13.00 and got my local Mechanic to fit it - £40.00

Quick fix for £53.00.... :D

Wise words... It is no fun getting under this car, it is low as it is and our wonky driveway is sloped. I think I'll go to the local mechanic.

Not the best access, it is behind/under a bunch of things and access from beneath is problematic.
