Change or include fog light to near side

Hi
I need to have a rear fog light on the near side of my car (Uk car now in France).
It’s with Mercedes at the moment who don’t seem to know what to do. They are currently speaking to their homologation department!!
It might just be fitting a bulb on the near side but probably a bit more involved than that.
Would be grateful for suggestions on how I can do this myself if possible.

Hello and welcome,

Move the bulb over and run a wire used to be a quick cheat as MB usually put a holder in for those who drove on the right.

That’s great and thank you for the welcome. I was hoping for a fix like this which I might be able to carry out myself. It’ll be interesting to see what the Mercedes garage comes up with.

Don't know about OP's car, but my R Class already had a bulb in our left bulb holder ready to used as a back up lamp for when AN Other stop/tail lamp failed. (Stop/tail lamps were single filament bulbs & used magic to make them either stop or tail ) Though there were effectively 2 rear fog bulbs fitted, only the right side rear fog was used. Apparently STAR could tell the car to use the left lamp as a rear fog.
