Hi, I've searched the forum for this but can't find the answer....
I've changed the standard radio in my 2004 C180 w203 to a Sat nav version the Be6096. However the unit will only switch on, show the MB logo then switches off,

1. do I need to make any other changes, ECU etc?

2. Are there any temporary fixes to get the unit working to some degree?

Thanks in advance

The unit is switching off because it is expecting to see something else on the MOST bus.

The most likely cause of this is that your unit came out of a car that had a CD changer or telephone pre-wire and you dont have these in your car.

There is a temporary fix which involves a loop back connector being placed onto the rear of the comand. The correct fix is to have the car and the comand properly coded to suit each other. This can be done by someone with a STAR machine or your local dealer.

If you want the comand flashed with the latest firmware, coded to work with the instrument cluster and the MOST bus programmed, then PM me

Hi, thanks for the detailed response, however I've not had any luck finding anyone in my area who can do the work.....

So are the loop back connectors easily available, or is it something that is made to suit.

thanks again for your help

The loop back is simply a piece of fibre cable looped from one port to the other on the back of your comand. The part number you require is; A211 540 31 32. It comes apart to make a loop connector which simply plugs into the large multi plug on the back of the comand.
