Hi there!

I'm willing to change the belt of my 202 since it looks like a bit used ( it has some little cuts all arround).

The main problem is that I cannot find the tensioner!

Can anyone tell me where is it and how can I release the belt?

Cheers

Tensioner / Drivebelt

Diagram here to help you, courtesy of Haynes. The tensioner pulley is No.1. To release the tension, lever the tensioner towards the engine with a large screwdriver or the like. Wrap the belt around all of the pulleys, then tuck the spare length in a loop around the tensioner pulley. The ribs of the belt should be outward facing on this pulley. You can 'wangle' the belt down around the fan blades without removing. It's a fiddle but not difficult.

Thanks!

By the way, some time ago I asked Hayne's guys if they had anything for my car and they said that they only had for body, nothing related to engine... Where can I find a workshop manual for my drive?

If the tensioner is the same as the E220 CDi then it is a trivial job to change the belt. Underneath the tensioner pulley is a raised hexaganol casting on which you can insert either a 17mm socker (or 21/32" socket) and then level the tensioner to the left to release tension on belt. See photo

I'm looking to replace the belt on my s202 c220cdi and trying to work out which belt it is as I have aircon but no idea on self levelling suspension (don't think I do).
Which belt would I need? Cheers :)

No self leveling suspension on a 202. You only need change the belt if there are any craze marks best seen where the belt passes over the smallest pulley.

Yep, plenty of them and it's starting to split. Also it's squeeling slightly so I'll need to do it ASAP. Would that be a 6PK2270 belt?
Thanks

Getting a mechanic to do it at the same time as changing the thermostat. Saves a bit of fiddling about.
