Hi

I am about to change the frony discs and pads on my wifes 2002 c220 cdi. Is there anything I should be wary of? I used to do all my own mechanics but have gon a little rusty due to owning newer cars but thought I would give it a go.
Any help would be much apreciated.

Brakes etc.

Hi Mac.

I changed pads on my 2002 270cdi this summer, 2 bolts hold the caliper on, An easy 1/2 hr per side. I didnt fit discs but you have to unbolt the caliper to get the pads out anyway. I bought the pads from Inchcape

http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk/

Very good service, Merc branded goods, 4 new bolts in the box and a wee packet of brake grease. Remember to order the wear sensors, mine had one each side, I believe some models have only on one side, get 2 anyway.

Regards Peter

Measure the disc and make sure its not worn out. The measurement is on the "hub" of the disc.

Open the bleed nipple and drain off the nasty old fluid, if you dont it will be pushed back into the resrvoir via the abs and master cylinder causing a posible premature failiure of these costly parts.
