Hi,

In the recent spate of cold weather my c220D is really taking some cranking to get started.

I've gone and got some new glow plugs, but the grease monkey wants £45 to fit them.

Where could I find out how to do it myself?

TIA

There are plenty of threads, with some mixed fortunes - some come out easily, others can get stuck and need special tools to extract them (they snap ). It is not a very hard job (a bit like chnaging spark plugs) but if your chap can do the full job for £45.00 and takes responsibility for any that snap, I'd take up his offer ! I suspect if presented with this, he will ask to up his price if one is stuck and needs drilling out!!
Make sure you get the old ones back to prove the job has been done.

Just had mine done by my indie (on the 320) - 2x we 'not very easy' to get out (cleaned up comment!) and it was made even harder as one had a bit of diesel still caked on from when I had an injector go. But - these were HIS problems, not mine ;)
