2002 E200 K a/t. I was checking fluid levels over the weekend and i notcied that the vehicle id plate seemed to be screwed onto the body. Is there a more permanent id plate / numbering syetem on these cars

Have since found it under carpet in front of drivers seat - under a flap in the carpet
