Got an cheap jack from the ALDI market, just under a tenner. It's like the one's they use in the garage.

This morning I had a go while cleaning my wheels. Very easy to use and now I can quick and easy turn the wheels while cleaning.

Yes some very nice things just cheaper than being ripped off by "Rich Peoples" stores. But then Aldi regularly scores extremely highly for there food products, not just there sale bargains.

Well-respected journalist's summary of supermarket's customer experience:

"If Waitrose is like an evening being seduced by Sasha Distell, Lidl/Aldi is like a stand-up shag in a doorway with a dodgy bouncer"

Wise words., mate....

some of those bouncers can be very suave

Sacha Distel, a bit old hat for comparison isn't he. The difference is probably more like James Blunt vs Robbie Williams.

Sorry to shatter all your illusions, and I used to slate Aldi myself, but after venturing in for the Bargains on a Thurs and Sun (specifically Hillwalking clothes and equipment) last year I am a convert.
In Trail magazine their range of clothes win over "superior" makes like Helly Hansen, Berghaus etc.
I bought Soft-shell fleeces for £14 and they are better than my North Face ones that cost £150:eek: And at that price you dont feel bad throwing them away after a couple of seasons.

Their cold meet and lamb etc is nothing but the best and comes mainly from Ireland not South America like most "upmarket" supermarkets.

As I said I used to pour scorn on my wifes uncle who I do most of my walking with but after venturing in last year I now look out for their bargains and also shop there for my sandwich meat and occasionaly dinner.
Only problem is I find myself buying axes and ladders and spanner and sockets sets as they are cheap but of good make and design.
Trust me try it but make sure the alarm is on on the Merc as a lot of the clientele are on crimewatch every week up here!!!

Well, maybe the writer was an old fart. I guess I must be too, 'cause it made me smile......
Anyway, I'm off to Lidl now, don't want to miss Monday's WIGIG offers!

99% of all the products that we have had from ALDI have been superb!.Both food and non food! The customer service is usually pretty good and if you have a problem with anything they simply refund your money:)
I to have bought most of their non food items (tools etc) and they have all been great apart from a battery power pack jump starter thingy which quite frankly couldn't have started a pudding race it was crap:confused:
people look at you funny when you pull up in the Aldi car park in a Merc though?.It is as if you are not allowed to shop at Aldi unless you drive an old banger?????

There was an article in one of the Sunday supplements last year about this, the article was called "the end of supermarket snobbery". One of the quotes was along the lines of "You are just as likely to see Mercedes Kompressors in Lidl car park as you are in Sainsbury's" (car park :)). The main photo was someone loading a crate of wine into the boot of a Merc.

It was a good article, it said how the 'Discounters' as they're known, have a much bigger market share on the continent, it's just out strange British class system and snobbishness that still prevails here, although it's coming down!

I didn't know about their tools though, I'll have to get down there! (Anyone bought any ratring spanners from their?)

Incidentally, a workmate said my w124 estate was 'classless', not that it lacks class :), but that you no-one would look out of place driving it; with the possible exception of me maybe!

The W124 estate is beautiful (I HAVE HAD MANY)all the lines on the car are just where they should be.It is now mature enough and distinguished enough not to upset or offend anybody:D

If I could work out how to clone myself    i would buy my mirror image a W124 Estate straight away.

I prefer Robbie Williams myself

I just bought a set of Aldi's ratchet spanners and the 101 pce bit set, while resisting the tear and share brioche. the spanners are absolutely fantastic. How they can do the set at about 12 quid when you think one would cost more than that from your motor factors.
I don't think Iv'e seen supermarket staff work as hard as they do at Lidl. I know they pay well, but they certainly get their money's worth.
I hva eone of their "parkside2 rechargeable 18v drill/drivers. It is the mutt's. I've had it five years now, use it at least once a week and it really does take a lot of hammer. The newer ones seem even better value, I paid 25 for this one all those years ago.
