e32ocdi Avant with EVERYTHING Obsidian Black...WAS! now departed.
Hi everyone, thought I should update you all on my "bleeding" problem, well after all you advice and suggestions, problem is sorted but not realy sure why it was there in the first place!
After trying many many things and speaking to many many people, the way I seemed to crack it was by "bottle feeding" the system by disconecting the new fuel lines that I had put on at there furthest point from the pump, .....common rail, filter etc and slowly back filling pipes and allowing air to escape,,,dont know why, but it worked! when all else had failed!
On the second try it fired up......joy o joy o joy! and runs superb again and starts on first turn of key,..... so I am well pleased...almost, now I have the problem that my gearbox wont change,...Great!
Limp home mode?
Read many links on here about this problem , so yesterday went and bought new battery, thinking it was that...no difference! (not cheap one, 900 cold cranking)
Cleaned maf sensor and most connections I could get at,...no difference
Cant find gearbox ecu as thread on here re that for my model describes a box I dont have (next to left hand hinge), so wondered if anyone knows the position on mine please? (I have large fusebox, in that position, half the cover lifts off the other half is screwed on as part of the casing),or any ideas as what problem may be? have disconnected battery for 30 mins too.
But have just now found that when I disconnect maf sensor, it seems to make no difference, ...what difference should I notice please?, this would seem to indicate that this is where the fault lies?
Do have small leak on gearbox and have "topped up" twice before in past (DII) which has solved problem, but also wondered If oil/filter need changing?
(Am I answering all my own questions?)
For those of you who missed story so far, the vehicle in question is a 51 plate e320cdi Avantgarde.
Would just like to thank everybody who helped/made suggestions so far, as was at least able to eliminate those things, and wouldnt have known where to look otherwise!
