Hi Everyone,
This is my first post since getting myself my first Mercedes. I like older retro cars, saw my 2003 C-Class and had to get it.

My partner is 37 weeks pregnant and we have a car seat but haven't fitted it yet. I was wondering if anybody with a 2003 C-class c220 has ever fitted a car seat and if so how difficult was it and did you have to buy additional parts?

Welcome

You need to check if it has ISOFIX fitted, if not you can buy the original brackets and they just bolt to the chassis under the seat, an east fit and much more secure.

The other option is to use a seatbelt mounted seat, there are hundreds around that will work, a baby must be in a rear facing seat which will probably be part of a "Travel system" so will click onto a base that is permanently in the car

Maxi-Cosi, Recaro, Britax and Cybex are quality makes

Welcome to the forum Casey:)

For a newborn, I assume you will have the correct size seat that should be fitted rear facing until 15months old and never in the front seat if there is a passenger seat airbag. The seat should be secured using the rear seat belt that is hopefully long enough without using seat belt extenders.

This site is handy for showing new parents how to safely fit various child seats, with and without ISOFIX.

Good luck with the birth!

I think it's mostly no ISOfix in that vintage of C class. I had the w203.coupe of 2003, and Mercedes Derby wouldn't sell me the brackets for 'safety' reasons, so i had to use the belt
