I've just bought an 1992 190E 2 litre. Its lovely, and most things work great, but in trying to disable the child locks I pushed the lever down and set the child lock on the right rear door. Now the door won't even open from the outside as well as the inside.
Any ideas how I can get the door open without pulling the door handle apart?
Thanks

Try having a look at the other door..the other side.. and work out where the childproof lock is..then try and work out how to unlock if it were closed.....then use that acquired knowledge to unlock the locked door ..wire coat hangers etc.. tape the edges etc to avoid damaging paint..

Theres a small lever inside the lock mech that sticks, and wont allow the lock to work from outside and if the child lock is activated its a sh!t. I think you can remove tha door card from the inside without the door open.

unhappy ending

I took the car in to the garage and had an initial examination by the mechanic,(£40) and he just couldn't get to the lock to fix it without removing the whole handle on the outside and inside parts as well as the door card. Even then there may be more work needed doing on the child lock mechanism.
Not worth doing for a 1992 car;

So be careful when adjusting child locks
