Hi All,
We are about to purchase a car seat for our daughter, and I want to get an idea of what car seats will fit before I look around and get my heart set on one that won't fit.
Out of interest, do any of you have an E220 (ours is a 54 reg if that makes a difference?!) with a childs car seat (Group 1 and over for 9months +/20lb+)....if so, what car seat do you have?
It seems that the only way to find out if a seat is compatible is to go to babiesrus and try to fit them one by one into the car...long winded exercise if you ask me, and they don't have a great range, or choose one by one and ring the manufacturer.......so thought I'd try a shortcut and see if anyone here can help.
Thanks,
Em

will fit, and it's isofix. Britax/Romer make MB's own baby/kiddy seats. It's a lot cheaper getting the Britax one than the MB one. The only real difference is an airbag transponder if you are going to use the seat in the front. Search on the various threads here, and look up Britax on their website.

Hi
We took both or cars (S and C Class) to Mothercare. They will test fit as many as you want and advise on suitability. We actually wanted 2 seats so we didn't have to mess around switching between cars. Ended up with different makes as the ones we originally wanted for both cars was deemed unsuitable for the C class. Saved us about £35 so I guess the service works!!

There is a lot of choice with car seats.

1. how long do you want the seat to last?, buy a 0+ and you'll need another one after 9 months or so. Get a 0+1 and it will go a lot further but you can't pick your sleeping baby out of the car in situ.

2. Is there a number 2/3 likely. it may impact buying decisions.

We were lucky enough to be given a perfect 0+ baby carrying seat from some friends (who have two children, one 'special', and manage to keep their plain white sofas perfect!... I wouldn't accept a second hand seat from just anyone)

We have a pair of Britax seats that go from 9 months to about 5 years, I forget the rating, they change the name of the model every so often, but the age range is what stays the same..

We used Mother care for our first but John Lewis for the second, their after sales care is 1000%. The mothercare check it fits your car thing was very useful, the first seat we bought had to fit in the back of a W124 coupe!

I hope this is of some help.

Derek
