Chrome Restoring?

Anybody know of a good product or method for restoring a W124 chrome grill? 90% of the grill is fine but the top area, where the star itself sits, is a bit dull and tarnished.

I've tried chrome polish (which claims to restore as well) but it's not making enough of a difference....

Autosol cream is very good - usually gets rid of any pitting, although it is hard work.

Thanks Talbir, I don't mind the hard work if it gets the results.
I had planned doing a T-Cut, Polish and Gloss Guard on the car this morning but it's been ****ing all day! :~(

You could but a new one for about 60quid which includes plastic grid and chrome finishing strips. Pattern part but looks fine to me

Try scrubbing the Autosol in firmly with a tightly screwed-up ball of aluminium kitchen foil, then polish up. (P.S. But watch the paintwork!!)

I wouldn't personally advise 'T-cut', being an abrasive, which should never be used on chrome. If it is just staining, try neat vinegar.
