Cigarette Lighter Removal E240

Hi All,
Newbee. First Post.
I used this forum to get some tips on removing my cigarette lighter which doesn't work. Seems to be a common problem.
I noticed some comments that a step by step guide with pictures would be useful so I took some pics of mine and posted them up here:

It still doesn't work. Yellow/Black wire has no voltage on it (see pic). All fuses fine. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Paul

the fuse is 12 is 30amp bridged with fuse 11 it leaves the fuse box pink and white and also drives the radio, glove box, 12volt socket in trunk.hope this is of some use,

Just some guesses...
Does the element work, try it in a friends car to see if it glows n pops out properly.
Cig lighter usually only works when ignition fully on (engine running)?

If its similar to a 124 & swivels down with ashtray, wire could have a break in it, try continuity between back connection end of tube holder & fuse box supply with a multimeter (I would remove fuse 1st so you don't accidentally short out line.

It could also be dirty contacts at bottom of tube, where cig ash has landed on contacts over the years & built up a gunge barrier preventing voltage from getting through adequately.

Just re doing this, the fuse is number 12 rated at 30 amp, its also bridged with fuse 11. the cable leaving the fuse box on the fused side is pink and white, it is the same wire that feeds the Radio, glovebox light and 12 volt socket in the boot,if all of these are working, then the fault can only be on the cigar lighter itself
