Hi, i'm looking at 2000-1 CL500's (as well as jag XK8's sorry!)

I've had a read through the forum and the ABC pump pops up, how can i check that the suspension is working as it should?

Also, is basic servicing ridiculously complex on these cars? Reason i ask is that i have a mate who works in an LR dealership who does the work on my cars. Saves a small fortune and i know the works been done properly. Is it possible to get CD workshop manuals for the CL500?

Is now a good time to buy or will the new model push down prices massively?

Thanks!

In answer to your questions very few people have problems with the ABC, its the same system that is used on the SL and others.
If it is not working as it should the warning would be on in the dash, In large letters it says " ABC visit workshop " there is no other test, just check for leaks. If you buy a top of the range motor car, there is more to go wrong, we have more SL owners here than CL's and all of the owners love them and you have no folding roof to worry about. The 500 engine is one of the best in its class, the same goes for the gearbox that is 5 speed on the 01 car. They are one of the nicest cars ever made.
Shame that you did not want a 600 2001 as one came on the forum today.

If you want any service details, please PM me

IMO the XK8 is very small inside. I guess the engines were fixed prior to the year your looking at.

Maybe you cant PM until 25 postings, wait till you get the car, the spec of the CL against the Jag is a no go,in terms of luxuary, the CL beats it. The ride in the CL is the best that you will ever get from any car ever built.
