Newbie, sorry

I have this C220 ( guess that bit doesnt matter really ) and need to change the number plates. I have the plates, and in the past have always drilled and screwed them on. Anyways, this car has what has been described to me as clamshell plate holders. Only thing is I have no idea how to open them up.
They have 2 small holes in the middle of each end of the holder, and suppose that is where the business is done. But no idea what to do.

Anyone, please

Just put a spike like a carpet needle or small screwdriver into both holes and lever up and down gently and they will open up

Hi, thanks for the info.
just a bit more needed tho

2 holes left hand side, 2 holes right hand side.

Do I do both top holes, then the bottom holes, or
left hand side first, then right hand side, or

is it a 2 man job, both sets of holes at the same time.

Sorry to be so specific, dont want to break/force the thing open.

Put the spike into the same side and move the spikes apart forcing the claws in the middle to release inwards, as in the picture
