After nearly a year of searching and questioning expensive car covers, having been left underwhelmed in the past, I’ve hesitantly come across the one below;

https://www.classicadditions.com/en...imate-waterproof-outdoor-car-cover/prod_10077

Before I order 3, has anyone here got first hand experience of one of these and anything for or against, in terms of quality and not causing paint issues?

There are YouTube videos of this brand (which I always take with a raised eye brow) but, seems to be well regarded by folks who would use it for more than 5 minutes.

(I am not looking to throw a cover on and leave it on rather protect the cars from weather and any building dust etc, aiming to take it off every few days or every week at most, to let the cars air and be used)

I have had no experience with the above covers, but all the car covers we have had in the past don't last, just like the outdoor furniture and barbeque covers.
2 years if we're lucky seems to be the limit, even the expensive ones from John Lewis.
More than 2 years ago the Missus came home from Lidl with 2 car covers which were super cheap, £20 for the pair she recalls?
One was for her SLK for when it was unable to get inside the garage on the ice cold nights and one I used on the Triumph 2.5 estate over the Winter.
Her cover was used a fair bit, and now I use it to cover the TR7 in the garage to stop all the dust, the other covers the Rolls as this has a blocked drain hole which is not clearing for me and water ends up on the drivers floor. I have used this cover to cover the car so water doesn't get in and so far the cover (albeit too small) has done a sterling job of keeping the water out. It has survived wind storms, heavy rain and being frozen. I thought it was going to tear to pieces in the last storm Amy, but alas, it is still doing its job  It is only a light weight rubbish cover but somehow it is still working. Best 20 quid I've....She has ever spent :D

Ha,ha....Just read on the cover. 3 year warranty, got another 6 months left.........

Good to hear you are happy with yours and nothing wrong with inexpensive covers. I have a few low cost Amazon half covers which do just fine and a few full covers many years ago which were light and despite heavy winds they stayed perfectly in tact.

Not everything that has a price tag is great as there’s a lot of overpriced/overhyped crap out there.

Based on having flicked thought a majority of the trustpilot reviews, I’ll take a punt on 2 (as you get a discount on two) and I’ll try one Halfords all seasons/amazon similar.

The Halfords one isn't too bad, Used that for a while until the aerial in its down position wore its way through the cover and then got worse as the days went by and wind got up. I think I still have that cover as it was for the Range Rover.
We do have a huge and very heavy cover that came with the Campervan (I thought it was an awning) until we went to use it on the Rolls. No it is a massive heavy cover for the campervan and we struggled to cover the car, it was far too large so rolled it back up and fought like hell to get it back into the bag.
My son purchased a very expansive cover for his RS Turbo about 14 years ago. The cover lasted 5 minutes!
These cheap covers we have now seem to keep the dust off the TR7 and although not water proof, the Rolls is fairly dry when the cover is lifted.........Now that I have said this.......You can guess the rest...........

Not a fan of car covered for outside use. They always seem to mark the paint to greater or lesser degree....you can never get a car completely dust free and that gets trapped under the cover, along with other dust that gets blown under the cover onto the paint. The cover moving and flapping in the wind uses the dust as an abrasive.........I've tried a couple over the years and even the tightest custom made one left marks in the clear coat that you could see in the right light....I rather leave my cars in the weather.....neither have leaks luckily!!

I’m not for or against covers, hence why I’ve gone so long without them, but with the constant rains and building work in progress, covers are needed to keep on a few days at a time. I’ve never had any damage from any of the ones I have used in the past over a few days at a time. Perhaps some folks are negligent with them contributing to any issues.

Ultimate ones will take a couple of weeks to arrive due to stock.

I have about 10 of these floating around for various cars, excellent. Just need to make sure you re-treat for water repellency every couple of years.

I have had a few warranty claims with them, they never respond to my emails, but parts turn up so.....

What product do you use for the water repellent?

There is only one good fully waterproof car cover in my eyes .. Monsoon with mirror pockets and securing straps along with air vents in the roof .The one i have now is 3 years old ..The one i had before lasted 7 years ..longer if i had not put the snow scraper through it . https://www.cover-zone.com/products/car-covers/monsoon/DSC04074.JPG

Good to hear about the monsoon cover as first hand experience is key for this type of product.

My two classic additions ones arrived promptly. Been sat in the box since as I have limited time at present and the weather has been rough to wash the cars. Just waiting for a suitable window to wash and cover them now. That said they do look, feel and weight like something decent.

DSK Nice to see a picture once they are fitted ..One thing - use cotton sheet on the car before you fit the cover on just to be double sure the paint wont get damaged ...i know they say they are smooth inside ,but i need that extra guarantee the cover wont damage the paint . And make up some type of rubber bungee cords like on mine to hold it on in the winds we have . And buy a couple of condensation traps .They are like a plastic box you put granules inside that catch the condensation ,One in the boot and one inside the car on the floor . Put a tray of some sort under them, just in case they leak i put them in a plastic box .- And you get the traps and granules off Ebay .good luck==

I’ll post up once they are on and give some periodic feedback. Good point about the straps and with all the stuff going on I’ve got an assortment of tie downs, straps etc to avoid skinning my knuckles.
