The drivers seat to my CLC has got progressively worse in terms of folding forward to access rear seats. I have removed the cover on the rear and the two steel cables do not appear to be broken since I can feel tension when lifting release button on top of seat.
I have attached photos since there is no apparent way to tightening the cables to enable the release levers to work more efficiently. There is also a third cable which goes to a head rest mechanism, but this does not appear to do anything. I presume that it is intended to lower head rest as the seat folds forward but this is not working.

Any ideas as to how to get the seat release working or recommendation as to a garage who could help, or is it a main dealer task !

Thanks
Nikki

Have you tried a lubricating spray on the hinges , catches , mechanisms that you can see .

I remember on my CLC the drivers seat 9 times out of 10 wouldn't move forward. The seat back tipped forward ok though.
I stripped the back of the seat and accessed the workings, but as you found, there was nothing seemingly amiss.

Seat slides backwards and forward with no problem, it is getting it to release to fold which is at fault. Had expected to find snapped cable but not obvious. Only thought is that only the end toggle has broken off cable so it looks ok on initial inspection. Will need to use mirror to try and see underside or maybe at worst attempt to remove seat to view. Not a task that I would look forward to and had hoped to avoid or get someone who knows !

If the seat is too far forward it sometimes won't lift up . Slide it right back and try it

Seat set back on rails, but release catch on top of seat is not freeing the locks to allow seat to fold. Must be a cable problem but can not identify and may need to resort to garage help any ideas?
