CLC Excessive wear rear tyres

Hi just had to replace rear tyres on my CLC since much to my horror, both worn to the wire on the inside edge after 5,000 miles.
I need to get the settings checked out to correct since this expensive motoring. Any ideas please to the likely problem ? Someone on an earlier forum suggested going to Wheels in Motion in Chesham, any thoughts. Thanks Nikki.

You need tracking and alignment doing by someone with a "Hunter" Alignment station, ask your local Tyre suppliers if they do it.

Very much so, there are quite a few places through Bucks with Hunter setup. You should be getting 12-15k easily from a 220 CDi, unless you're doing wheelspin starts

Craig, not guilty of wheel spins, tyre wear from "normal" driving. Will ask Wheels in motion in Chesham if they have the Hunter alignment equipment. Has anyone used this garage ?

Heard of them but never used them sorry.

Spoke to him by phone once , he knows what he is talking about and uses the hunter alignment system.. But any system is only as good as the Operator and this guy knows his stuff.
Quite a few on here have used him and all reports have been good.

They are good in that they can do all function and rectify, not many can.

Wheels in motion are the only guys I'd use too. They have a fantastic reputation across motoring forums and can advise on modified and standard cars as well. They also have a lot of motorsport customers so know what they're talking about.

Wheels In Motion checked geometry and found settings to be fine which is good in many respects but does not account for excessive wear to inside of rear tyres. Mechanic suggested the tyres themselves could have been at fault although appears strange to have same issue with both ! Now have to monitor over next months to ensure does not happen again. Nikki

I'm sure this wont be a pressure issue but worth checking, advised pressures are inside the fuel filler cover.
