Already said a welcome to your first post!

Good car you have picked, hardly any faults to speak off!!

And talk about a leap, a vauxhall to a merc!!!

Might be your first, wont be your last!!

yeh had a 57 plate vauxhall astra sri sport hatch... quite nippy cheap feel to it & vauxhall service is something to wonder about!

had a great deal on it so found it hard to say no! Also needed the auto cruise etc as manual was killing me lol

thanks for the welcome

The best way to start is to forget that you have a left leg,,once you get used to that you can do left foot braking,,this takes some getting used to,for if you use it like a clutch, you will all go through the screen

My partner has had her CLC180K for a few months now (I convinced her to try one after absolutely awful customer care when trying to buy her 3rd Audi) and it is lovely. Really pleased with it and no quality issues despite being built in South America (although just remembered LH door speaker crackles so going back for a look-see).

Only thing I don't like is Sport has Artico synthetic leather as standard. Looks good but really sweats you, have to put a towel on it. I would prefer no-cost-option to have cloth personally.

No problems there as the factory in Brazil is actually one of MB's latest and most state-of-the-art (the newest, I believe, is the one in Egypt where the GLK is put together for the Middle/Far East markets), with its 1,200-staff each one of them trained either at Sttutgart or Bremen, and also the CLC is put together there CKD regimen - everything's imported from the EU and merely assembled there. Shame, though, it's a 70K-car/month capacity plant churning out about 1,500 CLCs/month.

From what I hear from owners of newer cars, MB's quality problems as they flooded the press in the 90s are but history now.

It ain't the factory that controls quality, its the people, trust me, I work in China and speed is more important than anything to many places (they often get paid as it exits the gate......)
