Hi, I need help since having problems with CLC Panoramic roof.

At first the internal binds rolled open and closed but could not get glass open. Then got glass roof retracted but it really strained to close. Once closed can not get the binds to close.

I dare not attempt to open glass again since concerned that roof will stick open. Glass currently closed but when I try to close blinds there is just a single clink notice as though motor trying to engage but not able to move forward.

Any ideas if there is something I can do or alternatively where I can go for specialist help. I live in Bucks near Gerrards Cross so any ideas appreciated.

Thanks. Nikki

Mercedes are aware of this problem, they say the engine must be running to ensure the voltage is high enough to run the motor, I have some information, but I need to check to see if anymore updates, is the car a 203 coupe or a 207 please

Clc panoramic roof problem

Malcolm,
It is a 203 CLC CDI Sport Auto. Any further information you can provide would be appreciated. Is it a recognised problem/fault and will Mercedes be wiling to assist ?

Thanks

Clc panarimic roof and blind problems

Malcolm
From what you are saying, I should try the blinds and roof controls when the engine is running to see if that makes a difference. Any other considerations ?
If that goes not resolve, are there any other measures I could take oris it a case of seeking garage assistance ?

Thanks

Nikki

I think that as the sun roof does work but slow, the tracks need to be cleaned and lubricated, PTFE is perfect for this as it is very clean. I will still check later on the blind part.

Yes Mercedes say the engine should be running as the motor needs the 14 volts, rather than the 12 volts of the battery.

Thanks, I will try the blind and roof tonight with engine running. Fingers crossed !

I had the sun roof tracks lubricated in Nov at the last service by Wayne Gates Mercedes in Harrow so they should be OK . I do hope that was not the cause of the problem since have not tried to use since and was working fine before.

If you're having problems with your roof now, it will only stay the same if you ignore it and it will get worse / more expensive if you keep trying to open it and close it.

I had a panoramic roof on my old C220 CDi Coupe and it was always stiff and creaky. It eventually failed and I had to wind it shut. I was lucky it didn't jam. The dealer advised me to keep it closed as it was a horrifically expensive fix. I never opened it again.

I hope you get it fixed but be careful!

Tried to close blinds with engine running, but not working. Have not attempted to try to open glas roof since worried it will get stuck open.

Does any one know of a garage who could help within reasonable distance of Gerrards Cross, or is it a case of having to visit a main Mercedes dealer ?

Thanks

Have a word with Hughes in Beaconsfield, ask them first. Or WG in Harrow a very good indie.
