CLK 230 Electric Window Problem

The electric windows on my 2000 model clk 230 often open again when they reach the top and come down by a couple of inches. This is very annoying and usually results in much button pushing to get them to stay up.

Any ideas, maybe to disconnect the safety override that I guess is coming of its own accord, also how do you get at it all,

Help..................................

Hello Moorhouse,

It sounds like you just need to spray some silicone spray in between the rubbers on your windows. If they're going up and down it won't be your motors. The easiest thing to do is keep your finger on the switch in the number 1 position, i guarantee they'll go up everytime. I'm guessing you press the switch in the second position to let them go up by themselves right? Once you've sprayed the rubbers they'll be fine.

CLK Window

I had the same problem when I repaired the regulator on the driver's side window. It came good once I got the softop through its full cycle. It is worth a try!

Interested by these threads during a search for similar problems as mine: My front window (all of a sudden) is struggling to close - like there is something obstructing it. Keep pressing button, and it goes up. At the risk of looking a complete idiot, WHAT IS THE SILICONE SPRAY Locoshaz refers to in the thread of 22/8/06? Is there a brand namne to look for? Do Halfords sell it? I take it we are NOT talking WD40!?

Thanks.

I am a little bit wary of spray anything on the widow channels that can and do go tight in the wet weather, the window channels on all cars are adjustable. the last thing that you want to do is to change the properties of the Nylon/rubber.

Thanks television. I guess it means a trip to the garage. Since the window motor is working, do you think any garage would do, or should they be Merc specialists to be on the safe side? Thanks for your advice.

I have this problem on and off on my CLK320 since new (2000 model) i gave up and acepted that the drivers window one push function would never work properly (it would go all the way up, then drop down about 2 inch)

A few weeks ago the car battery died and a new one (Bosch) fitted, after everthing was re programed (including turning the steering wheel left the right?) the window works fine........ the vehicle has for a long time had the engine fault symbol going on and off sometimes for months at a time, its now off but for how long?

I have been told that Merc's are very sensitive to battery voltage so i would have that checked first, including alternator output.
