hi interesting one for you here as some of you know my clk had a oil leak into the engine loom causing probs with the lamba sensors ,people telling me it runs rich and will destroy the cat been like that almost a year and 20,000miles booked it in for mot and all the readings are fine exactly what the tester said they should be so im guessing that just replace the lamba sensors every 30-50k miles as a service part and all will be fine i think my faith has been restored in the mercedes brand name very pleased things look up thought its about time for a positive post

To be even more positive my CLK 230K is still using its original lambda sensor and also passes its MOT with flying colours after 217,000 miles.

I am a great advocate of giving the car an "Italian Tune-up" immediately prior to arriving at the MOT test station, that seems to sort the emissions readings out nicely :)
