i have bought one of these about 6 months ago and love it, still brings a smile to my face when driving.

i am new to these but it has replica amg 18" alloys and i am told a sports exhaust(single pipe) of some kind although i can't see what type from looking at it.

anyways i'm looking to fit a rieger gt-r bodykit to it and have it lowered slightly, does anyone know what shocks/lowering springs would be best to fit?

i am also looking to fit a twin pipe sports exhaust as i think it would look a lot better with the rieger kit, any ideas which sports system would be reasonably priced and sounding good?

thanks, paul

Before modifying her make sure you dont have any paint issue's developing..............?
If you do a trawl of the Body & Suspension etc Folder you should find a couple of links to aftermarket tuning companies.
Oh and welcome to the Forum Paul.

Hi,
Other people may be able to give you greater detail than i can but if your suspension is the same as the w202 c class you should be able to buy narrower rubber spacers from Mercedes for approx. £5 a corner which should lower and maintain the ride too.
Welcome to the forum.

thanks for the replies

i'll have a llok at the rubber spacers first before shelling out for some expensive aftermarket buys!

my w208 is the avantegarde not the sport.

overall i'm very happy with the car she looks stunning in silver and goes quite well considering the size of engine 2.3 supercharged one i've got with k&n filter and sports exhaust from amg i pressume??

still trying to work out how to get my pics of her onto the site!! ****** p.c's:p

will look awesome with the bodykit and new wheels!

is the eisenmann exhausts the best for mercs out of all the aftermarket ones?

Hi,
If you are gonna change the exhaust replace it all including the manifold and get a ECU upgrade done on a rolling road to take full advantage of the new exhaust.
Please be aware that the oil in your K&N will 'allegedly' destroys your M.A.F. Sensor.
Personnally i considered tuning options on my 230k when i first got, it but decided against it, as the power increases were so miniscule that it did,nt warrant the expense.
To get any reasonable power increases you are talking BIG money with pulley kits and bigger superchargers.

Hi,
What Teddy bear means is Mercedes of this age were particulary prone to rust, and it may not be evident yet as it rusts from the inside out use the search facility on the forum and see how many posts regarding the rust issue there is.

thanks for the replies, so the k&n filter aint good for this car, what sort of damage can it do?

and it's the whole exhaust i am hoping to get from eisenmann in stainless steel and will get it fitted properly and will ask about an ecu upgrade on a rolling road!

i'm not really into cars in such a way that i know too much about what makes them tick, well not untill now!! i really like my merc and want to get it as good as i can to look at and to drive!

as for the rust side of things, jeeso i never realised that, i shall have a read on the forum of some of the problems that other w208 owners have gone through.

once again thanks for the replies.
