CLK 230k Dashboard

Hi Guys.
The gearshift indicator and outside temperature displays keep going intermittently off or partially off. Does anyone out there Know why. It did'nt bother me at first but now i feel like smashing it. I have tried the obvious thumping the dashboard but nothing changes. Thanks

these faults are becoming common, the actual fault is on the individual components and is probably nothing more than dry solder on the ribbon cables. these parts are available on their own but it is hard to find someone that can fit them, and a complete new unit at £600 is fitted.
you cant even fit one yourself as the codes have to be removed from the old unit and put into the new one.
If anyone out there has a spare faulty Dash unit, I would love to get my hands on it, and I would do a write up on it.

pretty sure we still have faulty 210 cluster, with the usual temp and clock displays faulty
