I have a 1999 320 clk. during acceleration there is a very irritating whistle, the lower the refs when accelerating the more annoying. It sounds like an exhaust or belt whistle,i have had it checked ,no leaks etc.Mercedes dealer says it is inherant to that model ?
Any ideas please or answers

Hi

I had a couple of customers complain about similar noises. But not yet booked in to check it out. A possible if the vehicle has done a few miles and you think its the poly v belt. The front crank shaft vibration damper could of come loose. By loose I mean the rubber come detached from the metal of the pulley. I had a C240 that had done this.

Hope this helps.
