I can’t seem to be able to create a new thread so I’m asking here. How do I sort out The rear side flaps on my CLK 350 convertible the flap covers came off after a loud crunching noise when I wound up the rear windows. I believe it may be a fault with the cables, although the place where I bought the car from is blaming me for losing the covers I would just like some advice or to be able to create a thread please help

Moved it to a new thread for you

I’m guessing you’ve been trying to start a thread in the DIY section… that is for “how to” guides.

Are these the hinged covers/flaps that fold downwards when the metal tonneau coverlifts to the vertical as part of the hood opening/closing sequence? One of mine got confused when I was opening the roof and didn't tuck under as it should have. So it stayed stuck in the air and I dodn't notice when I frobe off. The trapezoidal plastic cover blew off (I wasn't speeding, honest, Officer!)
Surprisingly, still avaible from M-B - for £20 + a rattle can of paint. It just clips on - but adjusting the flap so it doesn't do it again takes ages.....

Thanks for that, already paid £60+ as an eBay seller wasn’t willing to separate a pair! I think it looks like an easy enough job as The angle metal part with the rubber tip. Just needs bending forward slightly to make it fit properly or I could of course adjust the screws?

It's in the bodywork section as it's a bodywork issue...

Just being an eejit I understand now, been on forums for years, all have different places to post you stuff, this seems like the logical place, a propos nothing, just did the machine gunning door lock spring fix, quite easy, ever though I’v had two strokes and a hand that is about as useful as a small clamp on my left side.
