i have a 2001 clk cab. my son was messing with the boot release button while i closed the boot and ever since i cannot open the boot via remote or just pushing the interior button or boot lid button. the only way of opening is with the key which is a pain. the plunger that opens the boot is working with the boot open and it makes a noise as it should with the boot closed but still dosent open. is it just an alignment problem or perhaps something more serious
thanks in advance for any usefull advice

Turn the key anti-clockwise fully and then back to vertical position, and remove key.

30 degrees is all it should go and then back to vertical. This disables the 'seperate locking' of the boot. Turning the key clockwise and removing the key locks it seperatly and can be only opened with key.

Turn it left and vertical with central locking open. Then lock whole car with central locking fob. Press button on boot(on boot lid) to ensure its locked.

Then unlock doors with fob. Try boot (on booth lid) again. Should open.

Then you can try internal vacuum (on dash) switch & boot button on fob.

sussed out the problem
when my son pressed the interior switch the plunger came out at the exact time i closed the lid, this caused the plunger to move on its mountings. i took the lining out and readjusted the position and it works fine now
thanks for your advice anyway

Ah well mod.

Glad you got it sussed out
Sure it might help someone else that has double locked their boot accidently.
