Driving home today doing about 45mph when suddenly dashboard lights and everything went dead for about a split second, just like when you turn ignition off but there was no loss of power. This happened twice with about 5 minutes interval between, but has not done it since.

Advice please car is 2002 CLK 230 Kompressor

Regards Steve

Common for the 208 cluster to go down, could be the start of the end!!

Sounds expensive, it was just as though you had removed ignition key, lights off all needles returning to start positions etc. then just as they had gone off everything sprang back into life.

Might as well check the fuse is seated correctly in position 42 ? On mine its the fusebox in the cockpit drivers side.
Would be lucky though.

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
As this could be the EIS switch doing this,,the car should go on to STAR to prove this point
