Sir

I have a Mercedes CLK 320 2001 model.  I think it has a recirculating ball steering system, the steering makes an intermittent loud clicking sound as the wheel is turned.  Any ideas what might be causing this?  I would appreciate your views.  Thank you

Large clicking sound.....

Hey i've got exactly the same problem and its driving me crazy.
It happens when I'm reversing and the wheels are turning; the front-right wheel just clicks into place and scares the living s**t out of me. I took it twice to my local MB dealer and the first time they told me that it might be those silent blocks which are misplaced (but they were alright) then they told me that it is possibly the disc rotor (but its fine). Please if someone apart from me and doctor flip here has this problem or is experienced enough to make an intelligent guess to what might be wrong i'd appreciate it greatly,
Thanx,
