Clk230 soft top not opening

Hi all I have a CLK230 kompressor 2001
And all of a sudden the windows will not open nor will tbe soft to open ?
The roof light switch is showing red
No noises or clicks when any of the swiches are operated
Any ideas ?

Stick it on a code reader, check fuses, could be many things. Roof mechanisms are riddled with sensors. It is a old car, so invest in a code reader if you haven't already.

Icarsoft MB2 will probably the job , if you have a diagnostic port with the right number of pins on a car of that age .

I disconnected the battery and left it all night and reconnected it and the windows and softtop work again

Excellent .
Lube everything you can find that moves and make sure the battery is in good health . Move the roof a few times after lubing it all .
