CLK240 - 2004

Hi All,

I'm going to look at the above car for my brother today.

Anything I should look out for?

The car has 114k with full service history.

Check all the electrics properly. Make sure when the ignition is switched on there is no clicking from behind the dash area. On road test make sure the car drives as it should. No droning from the transmission or lumpy gear changes. And the suspension is not knocking. Pull the oil cap off to check for sludge. Sit someone in the passenger seat and make sure the srs light stays off!!!

CLK240 Avantgarde auto. Looks nice but god it was slow?!

The engine noise changed when I floored it but it didn't go nowehere fast. My s211 E320cdi would have left it for dead in any situation?!

A 240 is a quiet engine but fast it ain't.

I was expecting more from a 2.6l V6.

Your 211 has 204 bhp, the 240 has 170.

I know.....it is only 34bhp more and the weight advantage must cancel that out?!

Having said that, I have just seen the torque figures......I guess that is why the 320cdi feels gruntier...if such a word exisits. LOL
