clk240 srs light

HI I have a 2005 clk240 convertible .Three days ago I started getting the bouncing door lock issue on the drivers door.I now have the SRS light on permanently.Is this a coincidence or does anyone know if these two faults could be linked

Coincidence. The bouncing lock is a physical spring in the door.

OK thanks for your reply.Under the drivers seat I have a large yellow block connector and a small 2 wire yellow connector .The latter has the wires cut or broken .Can anyone tell me if these are SRS connectors and why would the 2 wire connector be disconnected.There is no sign of any wiring having been connected to the 2 pin block so I am guessing this is not part of my fault but has been cut in the past

Yes, yellow is used for SRS stuff to recognize it. Perhaps you have seat sensor (or wires going inside the seat) gone bad and previous owner used chinese emulator to keep the light off.

So you bought a car with SRS on or it just appeared?

no it came on 2 days ago l have had car about a year now

Not unheard of for wires to break when the seat us pushed back, especially if something is under the seat.
