cls 320...light system error

over the past 2 weeks after the car has been started. i get the message..
ACTIVE LIGHT SYSYTEM CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE..
the xenons come on irrespectivley..
will i need to get this message reset ?

Sounds like the control unit needs replacing, only seen that once before!

The control uni as S-A-M said could be at fault, but it is working, as the lights work, If one of the SAM modules loses it memory then is possible that this SAM unit cannot find the light module, so it puts the waring lamp on

On my car when a SAM went down,, I had all kinds of messages, that were all false like parking brake on, Headlamp fault and so on, the thing to do is to look on the diagram to see where the light module is wired to, it will be recorded and seen on STAR
