Hi All,

I am hoping someone can help me by giving advice, recommendations on LPG for my car. Given the size of the boot space and the rising prices of fuel I thought maybe LPG conversion of my car could be an option. LPG is at around 0.55 per litre.

Has anyone actually converted a CLS 500 before to run a LPG and Petrol system? I will most likely use an LPGA Approved fitter. Also I think I need to look at the Insurance to see if that is impacted. Oh and my car is 2005 so the manufacturer warranty has run out.

If anyone has done this before it would be great to have some comments and experience shared. Not least to calm the nerves about doing this :)

Regards,

Given the value of the car I wouldn't do it...

It would put off buyers at that level of the market IMO. Plus LPG tax efficiency is only a dead vert until 2010.

Is it viable, how many miles will you have to do to recoupe the cost of the install, and how long do you intend to keep the car.

Oh, Welcome, stick around.

Agree, your better off selling and getting something with the MPG you need. A good LPG system will set you back £2k ++ You will need the sequential multi injection system so serious dosh. You will need certificates for insurance.

If you sell it could be tough, I wouldnt touch LPG on a car, I hated it on the rnage rovers and I dealt with 80 RR's 20 with LPG.

Either enjoy the car for get a Prius, personally think you are wrecking a fantastic car.

Hi,

You have settled it for me then. No LPG.

It is the best car I have owned to date and I was really not sure about messing it about. Thanks for the advice.
