I have a 2007 CLS CDI. I'd like to change the grill for the single fin style with a black mesh (to match the original black lower inserts in the bumper). Like the one below;

Having looked around, rather than just buying one, it appears that in reality, these styling grills have a very poor fit.

Sample Picture (oh dear)

Does anyone know if its possible to get a single fin style grill that has a perfect fit?

Lastly, any trusted recommendations for a AMG style boot lip spoiler would be appreciated.

The lower car is a pre facelift w219 and has a grill from for a facelift model and they are different so they do need a different grill, you can get a one bar grill that's made for a pre facelift car (cars until 2008) CKS do one that fits your car

However I'm not a fan of the one bar grill on a W219, it really shows the gap between the bonnet and front bumper and I went for a three bar grill with gloss black slats on my car instead

Thanks for that. I have decided against the majority of aftermarket single fin grills due to the whopping ugly gap.

However after some further research have decided to get the diamond style grill (its grown on me) as these do not have the ugly gap issue.

I was going to pick one up yesterday from CKS but they said they do not have payment facilities at their shop... (seriously???? ) and neither could I find the grill to pay/collect via their website so decided not to waste any more time with CKS. I will get one from brought back from the USA as I have some family members going there next month.

hi,
in regards to the amg style with the one fin, i just installed it few days ago on my cls, glossy black finish.
to be honest at this point i never knew that this style of grille will leave a gap between bonnet and grille.
initially i ordered it from a uk shop but had many faults on it and send it back. I contacted few other ebay shops and concluded on a german one (ordered from uk ebay though).
the one from uk was ready to be installed on my car (which i never did since as said there were many spots from bad paint job).
the second one from germany came in 3 pieces since the star is original part from mercedes.
everything screwed ok and i am very glad with the outcome.
There is indeed a small gap but you will see it only if you bend. if you want i can take a better photo for you.

TerryKal thank you for adding to the post.

The Grill style you have is originally what I wanted. I have ordered a Chromiumtech unit but just not go around to fitting it yet. I wouldn't mind ordering the one you have as well. Are you able to post up a clearer picture illustrating the gap and the link to the item?

Hi, please see attached photos. Light wasn't that good again although I did it in 16:00.
To be fair there is a gap as you can see but since I can't see it when standing in front of the car it's fine with me. My only concern would be for the aerodynamics of the car with this small gap now there in the front grille but I guess (and hope) it will make a small difference in drag coefficient.
Thanks
