You cannot believe what all people say on forums or in the press.
We had a guy here who swore blind that his 123 230 was much faster and much more economical by using 98 ron, it did not matter that all others with the same car could detect no difference gained at all, and some thought the MPG was a tad worse. Just to satisfy myself on going to a meet over 300 miles away I filled with 98 one way and 95 the other, though it is not an ideal way to test the 98 gave me a worse figure.
This is a scientific fact that you cannot increase the power or output from just changing the fuel, do not forget that some countries only have 91 ron fuel, and these cars will still run on that as long as you avoid hard acceleration.
If this was the case then the market would be full of additives to achieve more power from regular fuel
