Hi all,

Newbie here..

Hoping you can help with an issue i’m having.

I’ve recently sold my B7 RS4 (I’ve had a few performance cars in the past inc a couple of M3’s and a C5 RS6) and I’ve just purchased my first AMG :)

The car has covered just over 100k miles with full history.

My issue - basically, the brakes seem to feel a little strange, quite hard to describe. Sometimes they need to be depressed further than normal for them to bite and sometimes they bite with a little press. The brake pedal also feels quite stiff at times, not like my other cars . Starting to get a little annoying as I get used to the brakes operating in a certain way and then they respond differently later! It’s like changing cars but in the same car lol!

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to SBC brakes....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensotronic_Brake_Control

Your car has an electronically controlled fly by wire braking system which has no direct linkage between the brake pedal and the brake calipers. The electronics decides how its going to brake depending on your actions, car conditions, speed, etc.
