Hi guys,
Would appreciate some advice re my c270 cdi (2002)
For the past few weeks I have noticed a subtle clunking/knocking noise coming from the front end of the car (steering/suspension etc???). It come about primarily while turning (at slow speeds), but also when slowing down to a complete stop. It can be quite loud sometimes; and other times you can't hear it..
When driving at normal road speeds or motorway all is fine, and the car is smooth, and corners well.
I first thought it was my brakes, but later realised it wasn't happening exclusively while braking/slowing.
It can also sometimes be brought on by turning the steering from lock to lock while stationery, but again, only sometimes..so even that isn't consistent...
I've had it checked out by 3 garages (kwikfit, ATS and national tyre), who all said nothing was wrong - the shocks were fine, as were the brakes etc. They reassured me...
But something is definitely not right - and I'm worried, in case its something serious being missed.
Any ideas of what this could be?? I'm confused...(not to mention worried )
Thanks in advance for your help.
