Mercedes Spinter 313 cdi
Hi there i am new to this forum i have 2x 311 cdi sprinters and today driving down to middlewich i pulled into a garage to fuel up and when i pushed the clutch pedal in the van kept going and now when i put the clutch in in neutral and try to select a gear i cant !
to get the van back home i ended up starting it in gear and drove it through the gears safely WITHOUT the clutch so i know the clutch is ok its just a slave cylinder or the master that has gone.
Does anyone know what one is common and the symtoms of this ?

Should have been symptons if master or slave were failing, starts to creep when clutch fully depressed. Sudden loss normal when cable operated. Move outer boot on slave and look for leakage, masters normally leak into cab where pedal connects at bulkhead.

Slave prob cheapest, a lot of newer vehicles are a sealed unit ie master and slave and pipework as one sealed unit, freelander was like this.

Bleeding them can be fun sometimes have to be back bled, oil can full of fluid and flexi pie to the slave nipple and pump away until your thumb drop off!
