Co Axial Cable

Hi,
I own a C270CDI on a 52 plate. I've only had the car a couple of months and when I went to change a fuse I found a thin shielded Co-axial type cable running from the fusebox down somewhere near the front O/S headlamp. The cable had been jammed in the fusebox lid and was amost cut through. I've made a repair best I can but does anyone know what the wire is for ?

it must be for something aftermarket? has someone added an alarm or fog lights?

There is an alarm and fog lights but I thought they were factory fitted, I'm not aware of anything else aftermarket. I'm sure I'll find out shortlywhat it is...
